Cheers Phil
On the Obverse it looks like ONPLLOCO with a right facing bearded bust then more writing on the right side of the obverse ending in AUG.
I'm totally useless when it comes to coins!
Thanks mate

Just been told who it is thanks Phil & he only ruled for 8 months!

Procopius, 28 September 365 - 27 May 366 A.D.

Procopius was a general under Julian II. After the accession of Valens, Procopius led a rebellion at Constantinopolis while the emperor was in Syria. Procopius' forces were quickly defeated and he was executed shortly after.

I'd never even heard of Procopius before!

Hi Burp

Glad you got an ID
If i remember correctly his death was a case of not picking your mate wisely they betrayed him to Valens and he had them all put to Death Serve them right lol

When i looked up your coin its described as VR (very Rare)  at it would be only being ruler for a short while  Grin well done

Cheers Phil
Tell you what mate, I didn't realise that he ruled for such a little length of time.
To be quite honest with you I'd never heard of him before!

Lovely coin Botty - I'm still waiting for my first silver Roman!

I would be careful with it if I was you, as it looks like the hairline crack that starts at 11 oclock runs across it.

Great find - keep up the good work
