At the last rally near Hay on wye, after lunch, I walked about half
a field merrily swinging my detector which was unusually quiet not a beep
or a grunt, until I realised that although my headphones were plugged into
 my xlt, they were still hanging by my side and I had forgotten to put them
on my head. Am I the only one ?

No you're not the only one. I've done it with my detector a few times on the beach. Turn it off to have a natter and then wander off, swinging and suddenly think, hello, whats up ? and then realise I forgot to turn it back on. Roll Eyes
