Man vs Wales: Former rugby star Austin Healey offers bet to entire Welsh population
 16 Mar 2013 00:00

Wales has a population of over 3 million people and thousands have already taken Healey up on the bet

Got a spare three million? Austin Healey wlll be England's biggest fan today

Former England rugby star Austin Healey could lose up to £3million if Wales hold on to their Six Nations title today.

He decided to take on the whole nation, tweeting: “Happy to bet a pound with every person in Wales ENGLAND take the 6 nations.”

Wales has a population of over 3 million people and  thousands have taken Healey, 39, up on his bet.

He already faces a £1,708 bill from one website alone, with our colleagues at Wales Online encouraging its readers to take the bet.

Former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips, who lives in Wales, has also taken up the offer.

He was undeterred, posting a photo of ex-Wales star Rupert Moon “paying in advance” for the bet.

England are 1/3 favourites to win the tournament and Grand Slam, while Wales are 3/1 against.

Wales need to beat England by at least seven points to leapfrog them in the Six Nations table and retain their title.
