Glad to be of service (just luck)

I'm surprised more WW2 stuff doesn't come up around the Newport and Cwmbran area, as a Cwmbran boy originally I grew up with my mum telling me about the war. Not sure where the white GI's were billeted but the Black ones were at the top of "blackbirds pitch" and the Bengal lancers were camped on the Polo ground at New Inn.

Apparently its not the 54th Flak Regiment. It is the 5th Flak Regiment, 4th Battery.
So I was informed. Don't know if this helps.

was a german   p o w  and a load of germans
escaped from there it makes you think if they

 HI Steve, i Know by where i found mine  the army were camped during in the war,  maybe one of our boys brought it back over as a souvenir,  perhaps he had ripped it off a dead German gentleman
