crapola on the beach though so i'll keep me minelab swinging lol.seriously though weldone they are tidy machines, watch your coin count go nuts. Wink
one reason that they get some stick on here is rjm bob winds people up about his so they retaliate lol

Me, wind people up? Never! They just need to get a sense of humour.  Grin

Actually, the Deus is excellent on all parts of the beach but the Minelab multi's do have the edge as they're pulse machines.

On land, used correctly, the Deus is awesome. Made even better by being so small, lightweight, wireless, reliable, and efficient even if not correctly programmed.

Nice to see the tide turning (at least on land!  Grin )

I think detectorists are getting fed up with heavy machines and wired headphones.

 Ha ha,

Got my new toy yesterday DFX and it came with my 1st pair of curly wired headphones.  I've been using a pair of Bosh stereo headphones with the long lead wrapped and elastic banded.  These are so much better. and not getting whiplash if the cable snags a little. YAY

Looking forward to seeing your finds mate.

Minelab Explorer, Deus

« Reply #22 on: March 07, 2013, 08:38:32 PM »

Went with friends to Regtons a couple of months ago. They were buying a couple of Deus's. My partner and I ended up buying one each as well. i have been using the Explorer for twelve years but been struggling with the weight in recent years. Decided to get one to share the workload with the trusty Explorer. My partner was going through a lean time and getting a bit despondent so wanted to try something different as well. She had the Deus up and running within the week but mine remained in the box. That all changed though after our outing last Saturday.

About 3 years ago I had 4 hammered's in an afternoon on one of my favourite fields. It was then put to pasture for a couple of years but I could never seem to get on it when the grass was short. It was then ploughed and harrowed last year for maize. Because of the dry spell at the time it was still really lumpy when drilled. I got on it once but gave up because it was like walking on snooker balls. So last Saturday with the maize stubble well weathered we hit it again. An hour later Andrea (Salopgirl) was holding one of the nicest coins I have ever witnessed come out of the ground. Even my heart was pounding and I never found it. She had her first gold coin since taking up the hobby 12 years ago. She was lucky to be holding a stunning Henry V111 half sovereign (Southwark mint) in her hand. My Deus came out of the box that same night! I will try and post a picture on here once I can sort out a problem with my camera.

Can't wait to see that.

Here are the follow up pics of my partner's gold coin. I am not the least jealous..........honestly!

If you click on the photo and enlarge it you can see how detailed the kings face is. The skill that was involved in making some of the dies was amazing.
