I am a newbie and I have been bought a "American Hawks Explorer II Metal Detector LCD Display Type of Object and Depth" for my birthday tomorrow, can any one rate it or give me any information on it please?

It sounds like a good starter machine. Just enough to get you hooked, then like the rest of us you'll be looking for the next one up. Roll Eyes
