A few years ago I was detecting and needed to go for a p. I walked through the corner of the field into some woodland which covered a small tract of the hillside. As I was doing my business I looked down and saw in the mud what looked like a 'big cat' paw print. Needless to say I scarpered pretty quickly. I told the other half and then forgot about it.

A couple of years later I was detecting in a different field on the other side of the valley. I got into a conversation with a local dog walker who said to me "have you seen the 'big cat then?" He proceeded to give an account of two different sitings he had in the area. He said that he had told another local of his sitings. At this the other local said "thank goodness for that, I have also seen it, but have never told anyone in case they took the pi** out of me."

Having been told all this I had totally forgotten to tell him about the paw prints I had once seen. I still search in the area but don't think I would go in those woods again!

wow well let's hope you don't come face to face with what evers out there!

I have a strange stories my self not about big cats but definitely unexplained, me and my brothers were on a camping trip at Dinarth hall farm in rhos on sea and decided to explore the near by hills and fields when we stumbled upon what can only be described as half a calf ,the back end only, not newly born might I add but it was literally  cut quite cleanly in half at the edge of the field.
could it have been cut in half mid drift being born if possible or struck by lightning if so where is the other half. God only knows

O.K. so now I'll really stick my neck out. A few months back, out walking the dogs, I went so far and then deceided to stop and have a smoke by a gate while the dogs were sniffing around. And then I saw It, no not a big cat but a paw print.
It was just one, about 3 or 4 ft away from the gate, inprinted in some clay. My little terrier trod in one of the pad prints it was that big.  I was so impressed by it I went back again in the afternoon to get some pics.
Unfortunately the lighting wan't brilliant. It would have been better later when the Sun had gone over a bit but you can clearly see it.

Val
