On my garden and field Lately have a problem with lots of moles around leaving molehills
In the past I have used moletraps to catch and kill the moles but now in my old age have started o think I would like to be more humane to certain creatures and wonder if anyone knows of a way to get  rid of the moles without killing them

If you see molehills  on pasture fields go over them  I have in the past found some coin;s in the soil of a molehill

Find the tunnel under the molehill and drop a mothball down there.  The moles rely on their sense of smell to find the worms etc and they can't do that when the tunnel is full of the smell of mothballs.  I tried it in my garden and it worked for me.

Smell is one factor. But vibration of moving worms beetles any bugs. and u have to remember. That one run u stick a moth ball will last for so long they have other runs too. So they proberly go to those and wait for the smell to wear off
each run is only a food larder for them. And this doesnt include the deeper run to get from the frosts. Hope i didnt bore you

push a length of stick or cane into the molehill and put an empty pop bottle on the stick. the wind blowing on the bottle end and the bottle rotating on the stick sometimes helps to deter the little devils
and tell me, what is not humane about a twelve bore cartridge?  'humane' methods only move them on to pester someone else Undecided

when you have murdered these moles for goin about their daily buiseness of trying to stay alive do you skin them for hats and mount their heads on a plaque above the fire place next to the shrew you got previously and the field mouse.
