I don't want to ruin Christmas but I think you'll be hard pressed to find one much below £1800.
The one on amazon is American and Minelab do not allow shipments across dealerships ie they won't send Minelabs to the UK. But even if you could import one you would have to pay 5% customs duty, postage and then to top it all 20% VAT, which would save you around £50 but with no guarantee. Undecided

CAN GET NEW FOR £1845 JUST THOUGHT £1450 WOULD BE A GOOD PRICE FOR A SECOND HAND ONE.
ITS A LOT OF MONEY I AM TRYING TO JUSTIFY IT

The trouble is that they are being snapped up pretty quick second hand so it's a sellers market, plus many who bought the basic package have bought the WM10 later to make it the upgraded version.
With Etracs still fetching £1200, the chances of finding a CTX for that low when they are only 7 months old is pretty remote.
I wouldn't try and justify the price you cant,, but then any machine over the £700 price mark is pure madness and we still buy them. So the only question is...have you got the readies? if yes then just buy one.

Well the way I would justify it is that its my hobby, I love it and I could be spending it on Booze and cigarettes instead.

20 Lambert and butler a day@ £7.21 per pack  x 365 days a year = £2631.65

Grin i gave up smoking 8 weeks ago i was a smoker for 35 years and was smoking 40 a day,This was costing me around £100 a week.

With health problems as well i decided it was time to give up,I still feel like a fag most days but there is no way i will go back to smoking now.

I put £50 a week in a jar and just watch it grow

Anyway back to the subject why would you want to pay £1500 + for a second hand CTX  Huh its just not worth the money

Its no super machine that will find you hammereds every time you go out,if there not in the ground in the first place you wont find them.

Get your self an E-Trac when there cheap, there just as deep if not deeper

or if you want the best machine money can buy get your self an XP Deus  Grin

Merry christmas all

Good luck with your CTX Wayno  Grin

I think the Deus was the better machine out of the two you sold

I think the CTX is no better than a E-Trac as far as depth is concerned,i have been told its not as deep in some cases.

The CTX has a better recovery speed but not as quick as a Deus

With all the cash i am saving by not smoking i will buy the new Fisher/Teknetics multi frequencey machine if they ever realese it  Huh
