Not really been out as much this year, but I think my favourite detecting find has been the attached Venetian soldino of Nicolo Tron 1486-1538 just for the "Oh my god thats tiny factor!".

Like Neil, I haven't been out a lot this year.

My best find is definitely  this, which was my first medieval groat.

It's Edward IV

This was my best find of this year. In fact it is my best find of 19 years of detecting.

GOSH, i wasn't expecting a hoard of axes! Thats amazing.

Merriman, great to see such a success in your 1st year, but if you had to choose THE best one, which would it be.

Doc, a medieaval groat still eludes me, maybe next year!

Detectski, i;m surprised it wasn't stronger than 'hello'!  Grin Grin

...keep posting guys n gals, everyone must have a BEST find to share.

Though not the best example on the planet I do like my Gun Money Shilling. Not an every day find and just one of a number of firsts in 2012 even though illness, the weather and work has made detecting days out impossible at times.

Best one probably the lizzy due to the nice portrait, iv seen quite a few with blank discs for the portrait. Nice bit of gold next year would top it...
