i used to have the x terra 705 nothing wrong with it,except a bit heavy,so i bought a garrett AT Pro around £600 much lighter, and from a personal point a great machine.

My 705 is still on the market with three coils.. 13" 10" and the 6".  Wink
As Adrian says, A good ready to go machine but a little heavy for my 'Kaput' shoulder.

The 705 itself isn't heavy in fact far from it (1.3Kg), however the problem has come about by the fact that the original 70 being the exact same machine with less bells and whistles was designed to take the 9" open concentric coil which is far lighter than the currant standard 10 DD. The DD coil makes the whole machine "Toe heavy" and puts leverage on the users arm. Why they haven't come up with a copy of the Pro coil shape and centre mount the stem which would put the machine back in balance.

Your perfectly correct Geoff. 'Toe' heavy is the problem.

on my x-terra 705 i use the nel 12x13 coil and have no balance problems as i set up the 705 by placing the upper stem  in the opposite direction as desribed in the instructing manual it looks and feels different but it does give the user a more stable and flatter swing pattern.hope this helps
