Have you managed to clean the barrel out at all? just wondering if it was loaded when lost.

Have cleaned out a little of the barrel but hit a dead end Shocked about 1.15cm short before the little hole I suppose the spark enters the chamber to fire the black powder.  Huh The flint is cocked in the ready to fire position aswel. so I'm not 100% sure I have emailed FLO but no response as yet Cry

interesting find Ferrett . I'm curious to know how you came to dig it ?  What signal did it give on the AT Pro ?

I sometimes  wonder how much  iron artifacts  we miss by discriminating or throwing away due to ignorance

When I first started out detecting  I dug up this huge figure of 8 chain with a manacle  but not knowing what it was I slung it in the hedge.

I read an article many years later about Roman manacles and recognised the 'iron chain' that I'd thrown away.!
item 5177 .

Last year on an SAS  rally someone dug up a lump of iron which  I recognised as a shoe pattern but it was slung into the junk iron pile because the finder was told it was part of an old animal trap Huh

perhaps we should dig everything  Wink  before all the interesting iron artifacts disintegrate and are gone for good

Morning Mate

Gave me a iffy signal as the gun was quite deep. Was on a boring quite field and was digging any signal apart from full iron signals
