Well done Alan.

The hammered is a Berwick mint penny of Edward II, somewhere between Withers types 8 and 10, as the legend is right for type 8 and the crown looks like type 9 or 10. These were crudely made local productions, and the rough appearance is typical.

The correct orientation of the obverse is your image rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
