Hello
Mine did the same.It just used to go off when I pressed it to turn it on.I then discovered that the end was too tight where the battery goes in.I just slackened it off a turn and its been fine since.I dont know the cause but it worked on mine.Hope this has been helpful.
Cheers Andrew

Many a true word Mike Wink Touch wood I've never had a problem in 3 years with mine but they are not really well made. As Andrew says the common problem is the end cap pushing on the battery which in turn forces the ferrite rod and coil in to the end of the probe, which causes the same effect as pushing down on the tip of the probe. Although NiMh batteries don't swell to the same extent as Lithium ones do, but a tiny amount will make a great difference if the battery compartment is tight to begin with. Wink

Thanks Guys, thats really filled me with confidence. I've just spent a week and a halfs pension on one. Shocked
It arrived this morning and look at the b. weather. Tested it in the kitchen and I must admit it seems far superior to my Sherlock but then it should, it cost 4 times as much.
I did have to wait nearly a week for it though, they were out of stock. New batch just arrived from the States so hopefully that problem has been sorted.

I have owned 2  one of them from when they first came out.

No problems to date,.some folks must have been unlucky but at least its not like the guys who had to have their CTX3030 replaced. Shocked Jerry.

Mines still very sensitive and beeping but it does not vibrate anymore !

It will do for me though. Saves lots of time.

Wouldn't go detecting without it.

vlf+dif you can also change mode from tone, vibrate or both,it has a sensitivity mode button and after 3minutes without use it will begin to beep so that it can be located if left behind etc etc.  I've gone through 2 garrett pointers and looks like this one will last longer than the others lol

I bought a Garret pro pointer months ago and like Leytijenks wouldn't go without it. I am aware that some have had problems but as yet mine has been fine. If I hadn't bought when I did, and now had to choose between the Garret and Minelab probes I would go for the Garrett. I think the YouTube video that was posted on site, showing the performance comparison between the two would certainly have made me think twice about opting for the Minelab.
