Keep banging them rocks together

« on: September 28, 2012, 10:07:03 AM »

Still cant believe it, I was out yesterday on my usual flint fields even though they are still not realy settled enough from planting and had nearly given up after only finding one flint, when I found this James II half crown on the surface and in cracking condition.
I didnt even have my machine with me !!!

Reminds me that I once found a Roman brooch on the surface, intact with pin.

It's one extreme or the other in this hobby!  Grin

Well done, Ian.   Smiley

nice find well done.
After periods of heavy and persistant rain it really does pay to walk ploughed fields with those with crops because the rain washes away inches of soil from the surface leaving behind lots of interesting items sitting on the surface  Wink
