Spent another day digging rubbish but did come up with this after all the mud had been washed off.
Had a look through Spinks but can't seem to find anything like it.

Cheers

Ysbyty

Nice find Mike.

It's a Hull halfpenny token, like this:

I don't believe it.....there I was happily stitching two photos together in photoshop and feeling pretty pleased with myself for finding it so quickly. When super sleuth appears and steals my thunder Cry
That is a well travelled token Mike and a nice find well done.
Here's the photo anyway Undecided

Sorry Geoff - I went for the 'quick and dirty' approach  Wink

Perhaps we should have a protocol on here for claiming the ID - like two fielders running to catch a ball, one of them will shout 'Mine'.

We could add a quick 'In hand' or 'Got it' while preparing the reply.

I think the area should also be renamed as something like "Beat the Doc and Spank the Chef" or "Chef and Doc's ID Corner".

Cheers Guys. Knew I could rely on you chaps.
There was me thinking I'd just found another blank copper coin until I washed off the mud.
Blank coins are just so frustrating.. They have no story to tell.
