I keep seeing Black Vet Wrap cropping up in some post, do you guys wrap your stems up with it?
And will it keep out sea spray and sand.
             Thanks

i use this for resizing my hand grip on the detector, buzzerman gave me this ideal way of ajusting your hand grip, costs about £5.70, for 6 rolls .

I used it on my M6 stem and hand grip. Excellent stuff but no it wont keep out water. It is breathable so pourous. You do need to change it occasionally or it gets a bit sticky and leaves a residue on the stem. It comes off easily with a little lighter fuel on cotton wool.

I always used it back in the Minelab days.

When it gets dirty just unwrap it and replace.

Boots chemist do a similar bandage for humans.

When the machines are sold the original handle looks almost as new. Wink Jerry.

Or you can do as I have done on my Minelab. Wrap a thickish polythene bag around the handgrip and secure it with masking tape. This will be waterproof and stays in situ for ages.
