Also I forgot my mate Barrie (The Jinx) found a George III Guinea 1775 last Saturday  on one of my sites that's how the cookie crumbles but as it was his first gold coin in 36 years I was happy for him.

Only been detecting 5 years but I still remember vividly the day I pulled up my only gold coin from pasture.
February 21st 2009 and a barren site.. But for this I would not normally have dug such an iffy signal (but I do now - always  Grin)
George III quarter guinea dated 1762. A little worn but I would have taken a half cracked one !


I feel privilaged and lucky and I do wonder what the owner of this coin (and more spectacular gold coins on this thread) must have felt later on ! Gutted I should think
