I think your short cross is actually a voided long cross of Henry 3rd Wink

Thanks for taking the time to comment. My eyes ain't what they used to be, i can now see the long cross!! ..

[By the way, thanks for the heads up on Banbury cross and Godiva, i'm still trying to ascertain if the 'robert reynolds' company had any outlets in the Banbury area. However i'm not holding out much hope as, at this moment in time, it looks like they were just a Coventry based warehouse operation,].

That pot leg looks more like a wellington boot. It is a nice one though. It's got a proper foot.  Amazing, copper rings must be like buses. Thats the 2nd in a few days.

I believe that is an 'N' at the start of the moneyer's name. so would be Nicole rather than Ricard. London mint as you say and class somewhere between 3 and 5c.
