My website is www.stoutstandards.com and if you type Dick Stout into Barfarts blog you will find me showing up quite a bit.  I also have a smaller version of website at www.stoutstandard.wordpress.com

He's a strange character, and apparently has nothing else to do with his time.....

Have found that the vexatious blogger with incredibly itchy underpants and Nigel Swift are interchangeable, only that the vexatious blogger with incredibly itchy underpants apparently has more time on his hands.  I have also come to the conclusion he hates anyone that detects, and is ****** at the finds coming to light, without his assistance.

To sum up my feelings....if one buys a metal detector, and if one has permission to search another's land, it's no business of anyone else.  I think I understand your PAS
situation and it's fair and honest.  Will some ignore the rules?  Of course, but I also think that the majority will follow them.

Now maybe those of you who deal with this day in and day out will enlighten me on how you view the PAS, and how it works over there.  I am also interested in knowing the
consensus view of Mr. Barfart.

100% in agreement with seeker on this. Anyone who fails to record is giving the vociferous dissenters ammunition. Well said, seeker.

Mr. the vexatious blogger with incredibly itchy underpants has taken a liking to me

Don't believe him Dick! He mentioned me on 5 separate occasions last year and I thought it was true love but come Christmas, he didn't even send me a card...fickle..fickle...fickle Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Ironically I totally applaud his cause but he manages to shoot himself in the foot at every turn.
As with the Muslim religion which is one of the most beautiful, but tainted by fundamental extremists, so too with Mr the vexatious blogger with incredibly itchy underpants, his cause is a good one but he manages to radicalise it by his very presence. Undecided

Now on to you...Welcome to the forum Dick, it's great to have you here and hopefully you will stop-by from time to time, regardless of Mr the vexatious blogger with incredibly itchy underpants. I've been reading your blog since you got it up and running earlier this year. Keep up the good work Wink

Welcome on board Dick (Barnum) - you are more than welcome here.

Just to stress though to one and all members of DW, that we don't mind the occasional post on this subject, but in the past our policy has been just to ignore him. Which is a tad ironic as the vast majority of the readers of his well written, although misguided Blog (judging by the limited replies he receives) imploy the same policy.

Its a real shame as I thoroughly enjoy reading his blog, but his repugnance towards all detectorists, archaeologists, PAS and personal collectors is staggering. Presumably he would prefer finds rotting in the topsoil rather than being secured for future generations. I dare say this will all be edited and displayed elsewhere during the next 24 hours elsewhere.

As I said the occasional mention on this subject is fine, but I certainly won't have Detecting Wales turn into a daily the vexatious blogger with incredibly itchy underpants Baiting website - they already exist, ahem Avalon . . . Roll Eyes

Don't forget Barnum if you are ever on Welsh shores, as a DW member you are now welcome to join us on our rallies.

All the best
Neil
