I'll admit that I wouldn't think twice about selling a coin that matches the coin weight I found.

All I've got to do is find one. Roll Eyes

I sent them photos of the silver bodkin my grandson found last July at the rally in Vale of Glamorgan and they
said they might use it on Sunday Smiley

As a newbie trying to buy a detector the biggest gripe I have with this program is that its turned the metal detectors themselves into 'hidden treasure'. Two weeks ago I was watching decent second hand detectors going for between 40-75% of their original value.

Now we've got idiots buying second hand machines on evil bay for upto a couple of quid below the price of a brand new machine. Admittedly these second hand ones do come with a few extras but even so, you have to be a bit simple to buy something from the evil one that you could get brand new from a reputable trader for only a couple of quid more.

My advice to all the long term detectorists is - search the attic cos you may have an unrealised piece of treasure up there. But be quick cos I have a gut feeling that in a few months time the number of used machines coming onto the market could reach tsunami proportions.

Scotland had their representation on Thursday evening.
I would be more than happy to have found any of the items shown.

Do I detect (excuse the pun) a touch of jealousy amongst you Huh

One of the Detcting Scotland members, David Booth had his 15 seconds of fame with his gold torc bracelets the only Scottish entrant so far. I'm sure us Scot's will have a few more in Sundays top 10  Lips sealed

It looks like my grandson Joe's silver bodkin find could be featured as it's one of only 10 shown on the BBC website:
http://www.itv.com/treasure/extras/galleryyourtreasures/

In the Evening Post write-up which I sent them Detectingwales is mentioned, let's hope they use that too Smiley

Pathetic final winner as a number of these axes have been found in Europe lol The stafford hoard is unique and problalby the most important find ever made in Britain....A mate of mine e.mailed the programme with recent photos of his finds and was told bluntly they were only accepting from England /Wales...A farce lol Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I agree Rob. The Staffordshire Hoard should surely have topped the bill. But then I am no expert am I!!
