Hi Andy
I haven't got an XP to check but I have a horrible feeling that the coil plug is a mini 6 pin female DIN plug which is a bit unique to to XP. I think Nigel at Regtons may be your best bet and if he cant/won't help then contact XP direct.
And if you still don't have any luck, I can get you one but it may take a week or two Wink

Cheers Geoff,

I've had a good hunt through all the usual suppliers and there are some close ones, but no cigar... Sad  They are very close to some but the centre pin is just that little bit off the centreline to make me think that the "close" ones may not be close enough... I'll have a word with Nigel as you suggest, but as there are 3rd party coil manufacturers out there, there must be a manufacturer somewhere, I just wanted to have a play with the machine for myself Wink   I can bodge a solution, but its not the best, will have to have a talk with you I think, I wonder if anyone in your contact list has an answer ?   Wink Grin

Are you off to the Hereford rally this weekend BTW ?

It's still in the balance at the moment Andy. I think the plug is a high-bride of two different types and the coil manufacturers order in thousands so they can get them.
I can probably get you one from Detech if you have no luck.

Yes I think you are on the right lines with the bastardised DIN type of plug Geoff, its almost like a microphone plug with the pinout layout, just with DIN plug sized pins, these are close, but no cigar... http://www.lumberg.de/main/common/produkt_fs.asp?lang=eng&produktname=0322_1&wg=003&cat=2&newWin=1 I just cant seem to find the layout in DIN sized plugs anywhere Sad

I'd be very interested to see how much anyone you know would be looking for for say a male & female set Wink   Meanwhile I'll carry on searching I guess, I hate it when manufacturers play games...

I'm not over worried at the moment about the outer locking thread, just need the same pin layouts BTW ...
