thanks for your reply  ,must be some sort of trinket if patterend on both sides it was ment to be dissplayed i think?? probabbly wrong but there we are,try takeing  it along to the local f.l.o. if you cant get an id on here" ""which would be a first"" someone knows what it is

could it be a pilgrims ampullae ? they used to fill them with holy water  and pilgims bought them as a momentoe of their pilgrimage

Looks too small to be a pilgrim's ampullae and there would be a loop on either side. I also think a trinket or pendant would be the best bet.
