Oh a walking stick/crop inlay thingy. I always like finding those as I imagine a Mr Pickwick type figure loosing it lol.
Sorry to say though yours is 1899 not 1797 Cry But it doesn't matter as it's from the same artefact. Nice find Wink

On closer inspection of marks I must concure, oh Master. Roll Eyes

However, I do know the first owner of the old Mansion is recorded in 1604. I read that, in English. So, I am hopeful of finding something else, a little older when I can get on the fields.
Shame, unfortunately, I can't get to the 'business' side. That is now owned separately and, as yet, I haven't got permission on their bit of land.  But they do give me a cheerful wave as they go by.
