If that's the only question with no conditions attached then the simple answer as far as VLF machines go is the Minelab Sovereign. It's been the king of the beaches since it came out 20 years ago.

It has no effect on it, you can go from dry to wet and back and you won't even know.

The best beach detectors are pulse induction machines, no doubt about it, but they are of little use anywhere else. If you want an all rounder, and don't want to spend the earth, then an Explorer is a good bet.

Cheers for that my Deus is good on the dry stuff and you can just about use it on the wet stuff after its dried up a bit but if you go to the waters edge no chance chatters like mad .the only thing is that I've been using the big coil weather the small coil is quieter I don't know ?  Grin

Minelab soverign preferably with 15" wot coil, for best ground coverage and depth, hip mounted to reduce weight and arm fatigue. had mine since they came out, Totally agree with geoff

Very!
They are basically a turn on and go machine, you can either run it in auto sens or in manual, disc to min and away you go Wink

pulse machines are good but clean beaches ,on beaches that are near shops forget it there will be too much junk.sovereign elite if u can afford one if not get an older model sovereign with a 15'' wot coil as celtic spikey mentioned.my sovereign had a 2 '' advantage over my etrac on the wet sand on gold rings.does'nt sound like much but it is when your ring hunting.good luck mike
