I found this last week and wondered at the time if it was a coin weight.  There are some figures (Part of) visable but not clear. 
Any ideas. Huh

Two weeks ago in a field with Wayno and Db4 had this coin weight  .the one on this picture is not mine but not far off from this one i will post the one i have soon  shame the coin didnt come with it .  Angry

Thanks for the interest Al and Nordine.  Have tried to point to areas where I can see something. Not sure about the exact weight as I only have kitchen scales (Works for my cakes) Roll Eyes  but not that accurate. Can't see anything one the other side.
Seems to be made of brass or copper and could, I s'pose just be kitchen weight but a very odd weight if it is. My scale says 3/4 oz  or 20gr.
Look forward to comparing yours Nordine.

thx Val, 20g is 0.7 of an ounce.

i'm not convinced its a trade weight...... maybe its a coin after all

Had a look on Colchester site and come down in favour of either 1760's £3.12 shilling, which is 28.11mm and 27.96g  or  18thc  2 Dram apothocaries weight.

Just re-weighed my sample and my scales now say 25g. ??!!!
