I found part of this spoon on a site where in the past ive found roman stuff. I was wondering if anyone knew if its roman or not. I think its made of pewter but not 100% sure, cheers cider ( martin )

Not sure on the age Cider,looks very interesting though,any chance of some more pictures,when ever i find anything made from pewter it's usually very brittle and coroded,it looks more like silver,have you tried the spit and foil test,very nice find well done.

As simon says looks like it's a silver spoon , a pic of the back showing how the handle is fixed on would be useful. Nice find.

The spoon seems to be made in one piece i.e theres no join on the back, cider. Undecided

I think it is post medieval, hope the handle turns up and there should be some type of markings relating to date on it.

It does look like a mould pressed one.Probably 1800s or later.
