Very, very nice. Personally, I've been very lucky too this year, but I still dream of a Saxon hammered.

And... just in case you're unaware: WELCOME TO THE TREASURE CLUB  Grin Grin Grin These two little beauties will have to be notified to your county coroner within 14 days although your FLO should be able to assist if you have one.

I have to agree with Mike too, sure looks like it might be the start of a hoard find.

Congratulations.

coins were found about a mile apart on the trackway, 3 coins or more need to be found to be classed as treasure

Hi JMH, sorry about the assumption that they were found together. Pity, could've been a nice hoard brewing there. As for the treasure act though, please check http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1996/24/section/1 as it unambiguously states "one of at least two", not three, so worth noting for the future just in case  Grin

Cheers,

Great finds JMhammered, bet your well stoked Cheesy. Two coins of that period, even a mile apart could still tell us valuable information regarding that pre-Conquest period so still worth recording. Maybe there was a settlement in the area?
