Another GR8 day out with Ray, Ian and Phil today to a new farm for us in Berkshire. All had some interesting finds, I'll leave the lads to put their stuff up. My best find was a hammered practically the last hole of the day. Would appreciate id, looks a bit different from the usual.
Sorry about the quality of the pics just come in and shattered.

Excellent result Ceri and as you say a little different, from what I can see I'd say it's a penny of William I, so pretty damn rare. Pity about the ware on it but still a nice find.
If you have a Spink to hand try it for size against 1250 Huh
Still looking for a mint?

Well Pipster emailed me a couple of shots this morning just to get an id on some of his finds, well....................Sorry Ceri you have been knocked into second place lol
One of his finds is a Saxon Chatelaine and a real cracker at that, difficult to date for certain and could be anywhere in the Saxon period but for my money dates between the 8th and 11th centuries. Very well done Phil Wink

This is the PAS record to a similar one;
