I recieved my first letter to do with my treasure case today , the british museum said that the shropshire museum want to acquire them so far its taken 16 months todate why does it take so long  A freind of mine had there case sorted  in about 8 to 9 months sorry i have no pics yet but they were 3 cut halves  2 of king john 1 of william 1 will post when i have pics , just wondered if anyone else has had to wait so long  [roger g]  Grin

No that's what I mean it never went to inquest, it was deemed not provable over 300 years so was returned. I had two more last year that had the same outcome but they only took 4 and 8 months.

If a museum has shown interest and the coins can be proven to be from the same group (thus TT) then I'm afraid that as long as the museum has the funds, they will be deemed treasure trove and property of the state and you will get the trifling reward Sad

Roger how were they placed in relation to each other, all in the same hole? and what else has come off that field? if it could be proven that it was a road, path, market site etc and that the coins are from 3 different losses (or give reasonable doubt) then you may be able to make a case that they don't constitute treasure.

They came up in the same hole I have not had anything else older than a Charles 11 of that field  its down as a small coin hoard / purse loss
