This little chap came off our Roman field today amonst a handful of numii. I can't find the herringbone pattern anywhere although to me it seems to have similarities to some of the celtic units and saxon sceattas.

It has a diameter of just under 11mm

Any ideas?

Well winkled Tony, What metal is it made from? that will narrow it down. To me it looks like the hair and laureate of a post Constantine I. So a grot Undecided
