dumb question but how does the 'unread posts' link work ?
 
I can't seem to get a list up of all the recent posts for all boards that I  haven't read. or even just new posts .
In the left column I can see new posts but there are no links to the posts and it doesn't tell you what board the post is at ?
Even selecting the poster's ID profile link and looking at their recent posts doesn't always bring up their recent posts ?

 ie Val's post 'Woke my hubby grumpy old fart' doesn't seem to show up in her profile under recent posts ?

I'm sure there is an easy answer that I've missed . doh  but I'd just like a way of seeing recent posts since last visit to site without having to wade through every forum board if possible.

Umm no you can't see recent posts in the lefthand column They are just shouts (people talking to each other), what you see is what you get.
When you refresh your "home" page it should have the most recent posts at the top and will be black, those you have read will be blue. This only works if you have cookies enabled.

sometimes I can see recent posts other times it doesn't include all posts from all boards for some reason or other.? Its an intermittent thing. I'll copy paste it next time it happens and you can tell me what I'm doing wrong 
I hadn't realised that the messages on the left were from the chatroom

They're not from the chatroom, just shouts for if you just want to say something to someone online at that moment
