Hi everybody,
I have been thinking about getting a detector for some time and I think Im going to get one pretty soon.
I really want to know if there are any clubs in Newport or the surrounding areas that I could join, and also is this area generally regarded as any good to detect in?
Apologies if it sounds like a stupid question!!

cheers,
Simon.

Hi Simon, Welcome to Detecting Wales.

This must be a record, 2 hours 20mins and no one from around Newport has answered your post. Shocked
Usually a great site for information and help and theyre all very friendly. Can't help myself, I'm over by Tenby. Can say, you're in a better part of the Country for detecting than me.

Great hobby, get one  and get out there.  Best of luck. Smiley

First big mistake Simon. should have called yourself  'Simone' or something - You'd have been inundated with replies.  Grin

Newport has some very good detecting history, there and in the general locality so you need to get our there bro and enjoy.

Get yourself a Crown Estates permit and hit the beach. There is always something to find on the shoreline !
