« on: March 09, 2012, 06:46:47 PM »

Hi there,  Had a great day, me and Da Monkey met up with Pipster to do little business (and a beer),  On the way back we stopped past a newish farm for a couple of hours detecting. This was the only thing nice that popped out, but I was really glad to see it. I wast wondering if any one could ID it for me. I had a quick look in spinkes and there seems to be loads of different types of William III sixpences listed.

Thanks
Dave

Lovely condition Dave, well found. It's a standard spink 3520. Wink

There are a lot of different varieties of these  Roll Eyes

I agree with Geoff, the standard Spink 3520 dated 1696. The early harp and large crowns are diagnostic.

Although it's the basic coin, it's in great condition and probably better than 95% of dug William III coins.
