This has got to be one of the strangest stories I have read in a while. A small hoard of coins, all fused together, was declared as Treasure after the Detectorist found them in his scrap bucket!!! I also get the impression that he only realised, and discovered them, amongst his scrap, months after their discovery, and therefor can't even remember where they were found, he can't even remember the county, how sad is that!! How on earth could one not know that he had found a pile of coins, a pile of hammered coins too. I know they could have been more tarnished at the time, corrosion build up perhaps, but I am certain there must have been some indication it was a bunch of coins in the first place surely, otherwise he wouldn't of realised they were coins, and therefor, Treasure, when he was looking amongst his scrap??

Take a look... http://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/493123

THE TALBOT MOTTO: "To sniff out all things old and beautiful." ....... Just because I'm extinct doesn't mean I can't sniff out the hammereds!
