also different beaches are better with different machines for example pulse machines are better on beaches where the black sand is not very deep down.v.l.f machines cant cope with the black sand very well.the black sand traps heavy rings.
 other beaches like aberavon that are loaded with junk are better for v.l.f machines because you have to use a bit of discrimination to blank out all the iron.
 i know because i have tried both machines and watchrd others use both types of machines.not all beaches are the same,you will soon realise why when you put some time in.good luck mike
