good afternoon this sunny sunday
Not surprised not many online as the great outdoors has a louder voice than normal in this loverly weather. Can anyone tell which of these cameras would be best:  Fujifilm JX420 or Panasonic S2 14mp lumix.  They are both on offer for the same price at the moment,
all we need to do is picture our finds so we need one that can do the close up shots.  Other recommendations would also be very welcome.
We were invited up to Worcestershire yesterday to detect on a known roman site but alas did not break our roman duck lol.  found buckle, button, a tiny spooney type thing and another thingmebob which we think may be roman but where was Neil to do our photos?!!!!

Thanks for any advice
See you all on a rally soon

Lumix has a brilliant reputation for quality camera's and lenses at sensible prices. Not really sure of Fuji as I've never owned one.
If it was me, Lumix every time.

I would be with Mike on this one with the Panasonic, purely as the Macro distance is minimum of 5cm on the Panasonic and only 10cm on the Fuji. Lens quality wise, there won't be a lot in it as Panasonic only come into there own when they use Leica lenses.

thanks for the advice Mike and Geoff, Panasonic it is then.
Have spoken with a FLO since our post and the buckle we thought we'd found was a medieval strap tightener and a gilded decorative fastener off a small box possibly jewellery box, same period. The jury is still out on the spoony type thing.  He took em away and is doing a report and some research on them.
When he said medieval we looked like this -  Shocked

Thanks again
