Unfortunately Phil there are several problems with insurance, personal liability and U16 Risk Assessments with minors.

In todays society you have to take these things into account - its a shame but can't be helped.

The organised Rallys we all go to will all have arranged personal indemnity and liability cover for several million pounds - thats just not feasible for us, and hence why everyone needs their own insurance. Might sound extreme but accidents do happen, and I know of two individual cases where event organisers have been sued for what are basically minor accidents. One of them bizzarely was at a charity baseball event on Ely Racecourse- cost someone I know their livelihood!

Sorry its society to blame, not DetectingWales I'm afraid

Hi Neil

Thanks for explaining
Its a mad world we live init

I understand totally

Rob dont let this put you and your son off Detecting or Joining a club.
as Neil said all other orginised rallys have the insurance,s to cover U16 and im sure in time if Detectingwales rallies take off its something the admin could look into.

All the best Phil Jones
