went to a rally in the vale today with the swansea / celtic searchers , loads there from DW had the usual buttons bullets etc and these 2 beuties my first of 2012 , the little one is a penny the other is about a 1/3 of a larger silver half crown i think Huh
the general opinion was that its a forgery of some sort but the cut/broken inner edges are silver right through the coin .
any ideas anyone  Smiley Smiley

Well done fella good result!

I.M.H.O The larger coin is'nt a forgery, the crud on it looks built up and not blooming from inside the coin. Get a better photo on of both sides of both coins.

Congrats Mike (will have to have a chat next time) and thanks to the Celtic Searchers for the invite.  One very nice buckle and a 20P!

Nice finds. The penny is Edward I, York mint, not clear enough detail to make out the class. The broken one does appear to be Charles I, but can we see the other side please?
