well i woke up on a lovely hot day  got to the field  and set off  nothing at all for the first hour or so  then the machine gave a good signal........  i started to dig  and at about 6 inches  caught a glint of gold ................................  as i pushed the spade into the dry soil....  my heart pounding   i turned over the soil from the spade ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,   and thre  glinting in the sunlight was at least 50 gold coins ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,    at this point the flippin  mrs  nudged me in the ribs saying     the babys  awake ...................typical  but wot a dream   Grin Grin Grin Grin

best day for me was finding my first hammered, about 2 weeks after i started tecting, I was out with gadget ian

Best days detecting for me was Caerleon 1 rally. Although I found nothing significant I did find an awful lot of coins, buckles and the like. It was my best day though because it restored my faith in detectorists, having only previously been on weekend wanders rallies and seeing what a cut throat day it can be. All you folks made me realise what a good bunch you are.

arrr i found 5 nice hammered in  a day and a silver ring,
 other than that twas  when 2 of us found our 2 bronze age Hoards

Best day i had was with sutt looking for farms
and we was taking it in turns to ask for per
mission it was sutts turn he came back to the car
with the look of disgust on his face and he said that
woman told me to get off her land and if i didnt she would
go in her house get her gun and shoot me  and she called me a
scronger what a laugh Grin Grin Grin Grin
