A couple more hours on the new farm but now even more confused, as after doing a bit more research some of the fields were quarried, but the Roman grots had to come from somewhere and given the small size of some of them they must have been nearly surface finds.
So today I tried another field, well Taff still no hammies but I'm getting closer Grin One find (17thC tradesmen's token) is the right age and is hammered and one (Victoria shilling) is silver Wink
One more grot showed itself as did an Edward VII halfpenny, which made me realise that these fields have a total lack of the usual Georgian grots and buckles. The hunt continues Undecided
