for the first outing for the Farmer Phil cup of 2012  we decided for a change to go on a beach to detect so Melonhead picked me up at 7-30am yesterday and we headed for the Carmarthen area , when we arrived around 9am at the beach the weather was really mild and quit sunny ,as it was my first time in around 12 years of detecting to detect on the beach it was a very new experience for me , well from the start found a 5p piece and moving more down towards the sea where the tide had gone right out melonhead and i consetrated on the shore line and also amongst the rocks . it was such a difference finding copper coins that looked so much better from the beach than when you find them on pasture land they are so much better condition , i did find a chain with clover symbol on , musket balls, fishing weights, buttons, also half a nut cracker , Vicky penny George 3rd penny, melonhead the same , i know we only found these but got to say we really had a great day there and also meet up with Wayno & his dad db4 later on there so it was a bit of a D.W. get together as well. as it was my first beach detecting will definitely try the beach more often now. As for the Pink Pig  v The Cup we decided that we came out all square on the first round of the Farmer Phil Cup so its half a point each.

Chef could you id above copper coin for melonhead as we are not sure which king it is george or william. Grin
