Was too dark yesterday by the time we got home to photograph these.

Me and the Mrs got out for a few hours and after digging lots of hedge fodder and yomping through the mud we managed a pretty good haul for the day between us Smiley

First & second honours for the day went to me with a tiny hammered, ? farthing, and a lovely lead apothecary's weight, the second i've found so far, it's amazing they survive!

Not to be outdone the Mrs then found the lovely beehive thimble and what we think is probably a needle case (now know it's a dagger chape, thanks to Romano-brit) within a few feet of each other, so maybe they belonged to the same person Smiley

Then on the way home as it was getting dark and cold the Mrs pulled up a rather battered hammered.

So all in all a pretty productive day, two things we've never had before, the thimble and the needle case. dagger chape Wink

Needless to say off out again today........ Grin

Cheers mate, what I haven't shown is all the pockets full of rubbish we found as well, including foil Cheesy

Yes two romans, both grots really but can just make out Romulus & Remus feeding from the wolf on one.

Bottom three pics are the same item from different angles, that's the one I thought was a needle case, but have had a look at dagger chapes and have found one exactly the same, thanks for the ID, never had a dagger chape before either so still good Wink
