I was wondering what you lot give your favourite Farmers /land owners at Christmas time ...if anything ?

I have a local permission in the village with two farming brothers so I expect I'll probably give them each a bottle of wine . I've  only detected there 3-4x times so I think that is a reasonable thank you.
What do you do at Christmas time ?

I'm pretty predictable, a Christmas card, a bottle of wine and some chocolates for the family.  Wink

Cheers Geoff.
Only having started detecting since beginning of August, I too have been struggling with what to buy the farmers who
have been kind enough to let me detect on their land. The wine and choc's is a brill idea as its for the whole family.

All my farmers get a bottle of whisky and a box of chocs every year, when you think of the pleasure we get and the  finds we get out of their fields I feel it is the least you can do.I don,t have any problems with them letting me go on newly planted fields as they now trust me not to make a mess and I can go on them without having to contact them every time I go.It's a question of you scratch my back and i'll scratch yours.

well yesterday I took my Farmer Brothers a bottle of wine and a huge box of chocs each and very pleased they were too.

Whilst talking about hoards they showed me on my OS map more fields that i can detect on so thats a result.
I also showed them some photos of birds that I had taken on their land and they told me about a buzzard that hangs about one of their barns every day  so I should get some good pictures of that soon . ! Wink
