Just spent the last half hour trying to source the xchange software on the minelab forum. Everywhere you go you have to be a platinum
member to access anything decent. (By the way that'll be £15 please) I shall not be visiting again.

I bought my etrac second hand and am missing the xchange program. Anyone have a spare laying around please.

Cheers

Do as I'm going to and vote with your feet.
there's enough free info from minelab users so's not to worry about  missing out.

What you got to remember is the Minelab is the best machine since sliced bread, and they will tell you so. Cheesy I like to call it the ‘BrunSlowHeritage’ effect, take what you read from them with a pinch of salt, ‘kerching’. Wink
Most machines are only as good as the owner using it, and the quality of the land.

I know most of those members very well, that is why I’m on this site.

I cant agree with folks saying that MLO is a rubbish forum.

As one of the original members of the Minelab site and the one before it I can assure you all that I have my ups and downs with  some of its members who think that they are Gods gift to metal detecting.

All the more reason to stand your ground and make your views known in a level headed constructive manner.

Have you read their Deus thread where even the stalwarts are now buying, using and reporting favourably with the Deus and its advanced technology.

Even the most experienced and long standing Minelab owners and team leaders are openly stating that its time for Codan (Minelab) should get their act together and play catch-up to "Alaine Loubec"  who invented the Deus.

Its better to make constructive views known to others of like mind from the inside as this hobby of ours is more important than any one or even group of indiviuals,

We are only passing ships here for a very short time and should ensure that we pass on our experiences to future metal detectorists. Jerry. Wink Smiley

Don't mention the attributes of the Deus on this site..........I've had some stick!  Cry

I shut up now unless I'm asked. Most think their machine is the best so it's difficult to get others to
agree there may be something worth looking at.

I've used most makes and machines out there, including a few Minelabs as you have Jerry, and
all I can say is I won't be changing anytime soon!  Wink

I can’t believe how much some people promote Minelab, even when there are other machines on par with it, you could almost think there are a few secrete deals being done, but no I’m sure that doesn’t happen. Especially when some of them write independent reports on the Minelab in Treasure Hunter.  Roll Eyes

I use the Etrac, T2 Ltd and DFX , and I except not all machines are good at everything, and I swap machines depending on soil types and how much junk is present.
Some machine do better than other on a particular field and that is fact.

Earlier in the year I detected on one of my Roman sites which has now been contaminated with green waste, my mate had a Gold bug which picked up everything and slowed him down, where I was using a T2 with discrim set to 50, my machine knocked out all the rubbish and I only dug 60 or above. I ended up with 20 Roman grots my mate had 5, same land different machine and different technique.
