Dunno what this is , it has a lump of iron on the back, did think it looked like a ring bezel when I first dug it up. Now having cleaned it up I don't understand what the pattern is supposed to be and the lump of iron on the back looks too big to be a button loop. Also don't understand why a piece of gold plating would have an iron fixing?

The only thing I have found that looks similar is a collar stud. I found a silver one many years ago but the size is the same.

Thanks for that guys. Hey Chef how far do collar studs go back? Just guessing but with the gold plating I think it may go back a few years , the pattern is a strange one and was wondering if it represented anything, the other thing that springs to mind is that it may be the terminal of some type of pin
