been out  twice with my new etrak,prittysure my farmer nailed his grass to the ground.
all i got was nails in standard coin mode with a lot more metal.im sure they are giveing
150 quid a ton for this stuff at the moment,anyway
where am i going wrong?not a coin yet

Hi Barter, Well first thing is to get out of any factory modes, they are fine for getting used to what the machine sounds like and great for the States where all the coins are pretty solid, but if you have lots of nails and other bits of iron, then the machine will be blanking more than it' detecting.
You need to open the screen up and only disk a small part of the screen to get rid of nails.
The easiest thing is if you give me your email address I'll send you a mode file for the etrac which has the pattern file already incorporated and you can simply downloaded in to the Etrac via the exchange software Wink

that would be great,ive got a lot of card programs which came with the detector,but
being new to this machine i thought id start from the beginning in factory mode,
and i dont really know what these card programs will do at the mo,so yes a recommended
program would be great.

just have the screen completly open apart from 1 bar at the bottom and listen for the right tones you`ll get used to it in a few months Smiley

I can't use exchange because I only work on the macintosh computer systems. 'Bugger'... Why doesn't anybody seem to recognize that there are millions of mac users in the world!!
