mole hills

[DEADLOCK]

Is it me or does everyone stick there tector over mole hills in anticipation of a find of some sort, just thought i would share my thoughts with you. Has any one ever found anything from them!

Yep, I'm with you on this one.

I imagine that mole working away and thinking " these pesky silver and gold things keep getting in my way" and pushing them up and out.

moles are freinds ,ive had glass beads and coinage out of the mole hills,nothing to get to excited about,,,,but maybe 1 day

Do it all the time,never got lucky so far but found a hammy outside a freshly dug rabbits burrow once.

I thought it was just me too, next time try the cow pats!! No end of good signals under them.

i found this as well,for some reason cow pats do cover some good signals  maybe the cows butt acts like a magnet and it drops a load when it gets a signal ,,,,,,,whats next,,a moolab metal detecter

had loads of roman pottery and coins from mole hills, plus they only go good soil, so it shows that its been used before for planting etc

You've just made me realise why the Moles like one particular part of my field. The previous owner kept chickens there. Manure = Worms = Moles.
And yes I scan over Mole hills and Badger set entrances. Same thinking, they might have done some good work. No luck yet though, but live in hope.

i always scan molehills, -- have recovered several bits of roman pot and a couple of coins from their little humps!.

i once had a lucilla sestertius from the entrance to a badger sett !   

however i did have a slight advantage as the fields were a known roman site and had been well done by the arkies.

deadlock, i have put this subject on here before as i found a vicky gothic florin in one about 2 years ago ,and i always go over the mole hills.

No,  but I always say White Rabbits 3 times on the 1st of the month.

I've found a nice English jetton and two hammered coins in mole hills, but it was on a D.M.V, so worth searching, as those little critters go very deep.

It might be worth training up a few moles to sniff out the odd Gold Torc, but it wouldn't be long before a law was passed banning the use of wildlife in this way.

a few years ago i was at a weekend rally in Berkshire run by Mick from Leisure promotions and we were on a token hunt in a huge area when i got a signal from some sheep droppings i moved them and underneath was a token in a plastic bag, at the end of the rally when we had the draw much to my surprise m :Dy sheep sh## token won me £1000 so check every signal
