After yesterdays encouraging start on a new field and especially the surprise Eddy penny, I was full of hope today as I could spend more time (and freeze).
As I said yesterday the grass could do with being shorter as you just feel that you are not doing the field justice.

But after two shotgun caps, it was start as I finished with yet another hammy, this time in the shape of a Lizzy 3d. What a start wow! well.................then it all went quiet, and it stayed that way for about 3 hours  Cheesy
That was until I got to one part of the field close to the fence, than bang bang bang, one after another within an area no bigger than 10 sqm out came 8 grots.
So I can only wonder what is the other side of the fence as I'll have to wait for next August and harvest as it's planted with wheat Sad

other than silver paper more shotty caps and chewed up cans, my only other finds were a 18thC chape from a shoe buckle and a random piece of silver.

No I don't think I will ever get fed up with hammies, although Lizzy I and Eddy I do get a bit, same old, same old. I've found a coin from every ruling house and era now except one and that's the Commonwealth, Mr Cromwell has been very successful in alluding me.
I would like to get 48 for the year, but 13 more in only 7 weeks may be pushing it a bit.
