Had quite a few coins today including a dozen milled silver. One of the finds was this ring which has a shield with a horseshoe within. It looks like it may be some sort of hunting ring for a bird of prey. Any ideas?

I have subsequently found out it's a kids baloon ring. A baloon was filled with water and a 'friend' was then
invited to look at the ring or horseshoe.

When they got near, the wearer would squeeze the hidden baloon and water would squirt out into the face
of the unsuspecting admirer.

We had these rings when I was a kid but they were made of plastic and not so elaborate.

Obvioulsy this was a high class one!  Grin

You two laughing at my ring!  Shocked

When I was a boy, I had a plastic one of these rings. Obviously the ring, being metal, I found belonged to a wealthy kid!  Grin
